Sewing Garments, Home Goods or Crafts with Debbie Zeller
Beginning Sewing
This class covers the fundamentals of beginning sewing for the new sewer, “haven’t-sewn-for-years” sewer, and those who desire a refresher. Learn the basics of sewing while making and completing a simple casing project of your choice (pants, pajama bottoms or skirt) out of woven fabric.
In this fun class, you will learn several sewing techniques that you will find yourself using over and over on future sewing projects. Learn how to read a commercial pattern, follow a cutting layout, basic sewing techniques, complete samples for basic seaming, casing & hemming used with woven fabrics. By the end of the class, you’ll have incorporated these techniques into your chosen finished elastic casing project! If you already have a pattern, bring it to the first session to be discussed.
Quilting Classes by Debbie Garvin
Interested in getting into quilting?
I offer quilt classes for beginners and more advanced students. I offer a number of different kinds of quilt construction and processes. I teach paper-piecing, fusible applique with cotton or wool, a 12 block quilt sampler which is a great class for beginner quilt students to learn the quilting process and various piecing techniques common to quilting.
For students who want to quilt their own quilt top, I offer a basic free motion class where students learn the basics of the machine quilting process using a walking foot and free motion or open toe darning foot on their own home sewing machine.
Having a problem with a technique or just the quilt process?
I offer one on one private lessons to get you back to enjoying quilting.
